Why particles and viscosity matter in juice processing

Describe clear, pulpy and concentrated products separately.

Go beyond the product name

Record pulp, fibres, particle sizes and concentration, with temperature-dependent behaviour where known. Ask whether sample assessment is needed if data are missing.

Review channels and cleaning together

Assess product passage, heat duty and cleanability together. An equipment family used in beverages is not automatically suitable for every juice.

Describe the full product range

Include limiting cases when multiple products share a line. NL, NW and Free Flow options require actual fluid data, and the scope of process validation should be explicit.

Prepare for the discussion

  • Fluids, composition and relevant material requirements
  • Flow rates and inlet/outlet temperatures on both circuits
  • Design conditions and allowable pressure drop on each side
  • Exact model, nameplate and current technical documents
